If you are looking for some fun and a chance to practice what you teach, this is the place to check out. Our association has scheduled various Youth Events and Sports Displays throughout Georgia. You are invited to participate and use your skills to help youth understand the many ways to enjoy the out-of-doors. Please call or just show-up. Meals are provided at most of our functions and sometimes teaching aids, for your classes, are given to the Instructors. |
May 19......Jake's Day at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center, Mansfield, Georgia, 10 AM - 2 PM. A Hunter Education Display and Youth BB Gun Shooting Range. We will also be visited by many school teachers and instructors from children education centers like County Recreational Facilities. CEWC is located 3 miles south of Mansfield, Georgia, Hwy 11. August 2-5......Atlanta Buckarama, Jonesboro Road at I-285. According to Doug Rithmire, Show Director, this year's show will be the biggest ever. Parking is free. February 23-25......GHEA Conference Annual Conference. FFA Camp is south of Covington, GA. Registration by mail or in person at the Camp. Saturday's Tree Stand Safety Class (open to all Georgia H. E. Instructors) is $30 (you will get more than $30 worth of goodies). Still plenty of rooms available. Friday, clay shooting at the FFA Range-free. Friday night supper sponsored by the GHEA. Saturday evening's banquet starts at 6 PM. Jan Chase will speak on Sunday morning. Spouses can fish in Jackson Lake on Saturday....outlook is 65+ degrees. Otherwise movies and games.
