Welcome to the Georgia Hunter Education Association (GHEA), a non-profit organization with membership made up of volunteers and Conservation Rangers who teach Hunter Education in Georgia. Our membership also includes individuals, businesses and organizations who believe in and support Hunter Education and who join GHEA as Associate Members. Hunter Education in Georgia first started in 1964 and has developed into the modern 10-hour program it is today. Through the years there have been many changes and additions. One such addition was the forming of GHEA. Some of the goals of the Georgia Hunter Education Association are: Stay... (1) open and alert to the changing times and conditions of sport hunting. One way to do this is by being prepared through workshops and study seminars, so that our instructors have the best information possible for their classrooms. (2) Offer opportunities to our youth who might not otherwise experience the outdoors. This may be done by conducting outdoor events that will introduce youngsters to shooting, hunting and other outdoor activities. (3) Work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources/Wildlife Resources Division, Georgia Wildlife Federation and other wildlife conservation organizations to insure that future generations have the same opportunities and experiences we had in the outdoors.
